On the occasion of the centennial of the death of Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre dedicates a collection of commemorative coins to the most internationally renowned Spanish painter of his time and one of the most important figures in the history of Spanish art as a whole.

En el anverso se reproduce la obra titulada “Autorretrato”, realizada por Joaquín Sorolla en 1909. En el reverso se reproduce la obra titulada “Clotilde con traje gris”, realizada por Joaquín Sorolla en 1900. Ambas obras se conservan en el Museo Sorolla, de Madrid. "Autorretrato" 1909. El pintor lleva un sombrero de ala ancha y mira hacia el espectador. "Clotilde con traje gris" 1900. Clotilde dio a Sorolla la estabilidad y seguridad en la que se asentó toda su vida, pero también fue su musa y modelo referida. Su retrato nos muestra su peculiar belleza, y su porte y mirada directa su carácter firme y decidido.
