The Royal Mint issues two collector's coins in homage to Salvador Dalí, a rectangular one of half a kilo of pure silver and one of 8 Reales, in sterling silver.

Rectangular coin

The obverse shows the image of Salvador Dalí's painting "The Temptation of Saint Anthony". Surrounding the image is a graphite composed of a trail of ants.

On the left-hand side of the reverse is a portrait of Salvador Dalí, the work of the photographer Melitó Casals. In the background is a detail of the painting "The Temptation of Saint Anthony". The motifs and legends are surrounded by a graphite composed of a path of ants.

8 Reales

The obverse shows a portrait of Salvador Dalí, the work of the photographer Melitó Casals; to his right, at the top, Dalí's signature. In the background is an allegory of Salvador Dalí's work entitled 'The disintegration of the persistence of memory'. Surrounding the motifs and legends is a graphite composed of a trail of ants.

On the back is a detail of the painting "Galatea of the Spheres", which is kept at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, painted by Salvador Dalí in 1952. The work shows a bust of Gala composed of a matrix of spheres apparently suspended in space. The motifs and legends are surrounded by a graphite composed of a trail of ants.
