The National Factory of Currency and Stamps Royal Mint will launch a 1 oz gold coin in 2024 featuring the image of another representative animal of Spain on the reverse side, in this case, the IMPERIAL EAGLE. The Iberian imperial eagle is a majestic bird of prey endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. Its plumage is dark with white shoulders, and it has a wingspan that can reach 220 cm. It inhabits forests and open areas, where it hunts small mammals. It is a species that is endangered. The maximum mintage is 12,000 pieces. On the obverse side, an image of the "unmistakable symbol of the historic Spanish silver coin, which enjoys worldwide recognition within numismatic culture," is depicted. Additionally, a quadruple latent image created and patented as a security system by our Mint is included.
